  • The dispatch office is closed for lunch from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
  • To schedule a ride or to register, call the Dial-A-Ride office at (310) 545-3500 or (310) 802-5162.
  •  Reservations may be made up to seven days in advance.
  • The service is provided on a first call, first served basis and rides may not always be available.
  • Please be prepared to give the destination address and phone number(s).

Weekends 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM All other destination. No medical appointments unless within city limits.
  • Dial-A-Ride can now accommodate medical appointments scheduled as early as 8:30 AM.
  • If your medical appointment will run past 4:00 PM, our Dial-A-Ride dispatcher can arrange a taxi ride home for you.
  • Last pick up time is between 3:45 PM and 4:00 PM, depending on location.

Registration
Contact the Dial-A-Ride office at (310) 545-3500 or (310) 802-5162. Please provide the dispatch operator with:

1. Your first and last name   

2. Your address

3. Telephone number

4. Emergency contact (spouse, family member, friend, doctor, etc.)

Policies and Procedures

  • Dial-A-Ride is a shared ride service providing numerous passengers with transportation.
  • Drivers are required to pick you up within 15 minutes of a scheduled ride.
    • For example if you have a 9:00 AM pick-up time, please wait until 9:15 AM before calling the dispatcher to check on the driver's location.
  • Dial-A-Ride patrons should be waiting outside at their designated pick-up location.
  • Drivers are instructed to wait a maximum of three minutes for patrons to exit their pick-up locations.
  • If patrons are not ready, after waiting for three minutes, the driver will attempt to call you before leaving.
  • Patrons who miss their ride will need to call the dispatcher to reschedule.

About Dial-A-Ride
The Manhattan Beach Dial-A-Ride is a shared ride, curb-to-curb bus service for Manhattan Beach residents who are 55+ years old or disabled (all ages). Dial-A-Ride will provide transportation to any destination within the City of Manhattan Beach seven days a week and to most medical facilities in Torrance, Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach Monday through Friday. Dial-A-Ride also makes special trips to a variety of shopping destinations outside of the city on designated days of the week.

Because it is a curb-to-curb service, Dial-A-Ride patrons should be waiting in front of their location at the designated pick-up time.

Who can Ride?
The Manhattan Beach Dial-A-Ride is a shared ride, curb-to-curb bus service for Manhattan Beach residents who are 55+ years old or disabled (all ages). Riders who have a short-term disability are also eligible to ride by providing a letter from their physician. All buses are equipped with a wheelchair lift. Drivers provide boarding and disembarking assistance as needed. Contact our Dial-A-Ride dispatcher at (310) 545-3500 to sign up today.
