Water Distribution Flushing Program 2017

Starting in Your Area Soon

Post Date:04/07/2017

The City of Manhattan Beach Public Works Department has begun a Water Distribution System Flushing maintenance program. On any given day in your neighborhood, you may notice a large truck upon which a diesel driven pump and a water filtration system will be mounted. The inlet and discharge lines of the pump will be connected to fire hydrants on your street. The pump may run from 3 to 7 hours per day, perhaps for as long as 4 consecutive days, at any given zone staging area before moving to the next zone staging area.

City Staff will keep the streets open to through traffic, with occasional exceptions determined on a safety factor case-by-case basis. As a consequence, you may experience minor traffic flow inconveniences. Fire, police and paramedic vehicles will have unhindered access to streets at all times.
