We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Technician with our dynamic Human Resources team!  The Human Resources staff provides high-level customer service to eight Departments, which includes Police, Fire, Public Works, Finance, Parks & Recreation, Community Development, Management Services, and Information Technology.

The Human Resources Technician will perform a variety of technical and administrative support duties related to the City's human resources programs.  These areas include benefits, employee leave administration, HRIS and personnel records administration, employee processing, training and development, recruiting and selection, department budget, executive and department staff support, employee recognition, and other duties as assigned. 

The ideal candidate will be able to independently perform responsible work, must be able to handle multiple projects, interpersonal and organizational skills, willing to work cooperatively with staff and have strong work ethic.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School graduate or G.E.D.   Completion of an Associates degree and training and certification in human resources is highly desirable. 

Training and Experience: Two (2) years of responsible human resources technical experience in employment, benefits, human resources information systems software, or related areas.

Licenses and Certificates:

  • Ability to attain a valid California Class "C" driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
  • Designation of Certified Employee Benefits Specialist or similar certification is desirable, depending upon position assignment.
