 The City of Manhattan Beach is now accepting applications for the position of part-time Recreation Leader I (Cultural Arts) for the Parks and Recreation Department. 

POSITION INFORMATION:  The part-time  Recreation Leader I will assist the Cultural Arts Division with various seasonal art education classes/events and provide facility maintenance and monitor facility needs.  Additionally, this position will coordinate various program records including: class list, schedules, descriptions and other related documentation. This position also preforms related work as required.

HOURS: Part-time positions will not work over 960 hours per fiscal year. Will be required to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED.

Training and Experience: Some direct experience in leadership, volunteer work, or recreation activities is highly desirable.

Age:  Must be least 18 years of age.

License: A valid Class "C" drivers license is required at the time of employment and acceptable driving record is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Some positions in this class require knowledge in recreation activities and programs; skill in operating specific department tools and equipment. Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing; ability to follow oral and written instructions; and work effectively with others is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently operate tools and controls; may occasionally sit, stand, walk, run, climb, balance, and kneel; will frequently work outdoors and may be exposed to variable weather conditions; and may frequently drive to various parks and recreation facilities throughout the City.
